Our Practical Management Training Program reaches out to new or untrained
lead people, supervisors or managers and provides the tools that will
enable the trainee to solve real life employee problems on the production
floor.
It is not a theory or strictly lecture class. In most classes of this
type, you sit in a classroom, listen to the speaker, take notes and leave.
The trainee is then on their own to implement the training. No support
group. Just fumble along and try to make what you have heard work for
you in this real life, high stress environment.
Instead we discuss real issues and how to deal with them. Each participant
generates 5 case studies that reflect existing problems within their working
environment. Then in a role playing situation, the trainee demonstrates
how the problem is to be resolved. The rest of the class observes, completes
a confidential peer review followed by a group discussion. The training
is in a risk free environment where the attendees can demonstrate how
they would resolve the outstanding issue and they observe how the other
attendee's handled their problem.
Training Modules
5 modules are included in the program. They are designed to be sequential
and each one builds upon the previous training.

Introducing Change
|
An overview of change programs in general. Included are statistics,
why most programs fail and how to avoid that fate. This includes a
categorization of plant personnel into 6 distinct mindsets (including
typical employee behavior). How to transition into a mindset that
allows for effective change. |
|
Work Habit Improvements
|
A focus on identification and resolution of a specific habits or
actions. Why is the change necessary, impact if not done, as well
as results if done. |
|
Work Performance Improvements
|
Overall work performance. A broader view that one habit. Why this
change is necessary and how to implement with a high degree of success. |
| Establishing Accountability |
Holding people accountable for their actions. Why this is necessary
and implementation strategies. |
| Positive Recognition |
Building on success. Motivation and team building. |
Role Playing
Each module has its own format and detailed description. The trainee
selects a current problem and prepares a case study. They prepare for
the change and practice in class. A volunteer (classmate) fills in as
the employee. This role playing is very effective at getting a feel for
how the actual conversation may progress.
Peer Review
After each role playing session, the attendees fill out a peer review.
This evaluates the "supervisors" performance and the reaction of the "employee".
After tabulation, this feedback is given, in confidence, to the "supervisor".
Scoring is a simple 1-5 range with room for comments and other feedback.
The power of the system is that everyone sits in the hot seat and receives
feedback from their classmates. It is not what you say, but what is heard
that counts.
With the extended version, the trainee applies what they have learned,
in the production environment. Afterwards they return to the class and
appraise the group as to their effectiveness. What went right and what
went wrong.
This feedback allows the group to learn from the successes and failures
of their classmates.

Class Types, Size and Duration
Condensed Version
All 5 modules are completed in one intense 5 day workshop.
50 role playing sessions. Discussion, Demonstration, Feedback and Practice
of the basic principles of each module. Class size is restricted to 10
people. The group meets, OFF SITE, from 9AM to 4PM for 5 continuous days.
Some homework is assigned but this mainly deals with preparation of case
studies.
Duration: 1 week
Extended Version
The same modules and role playing as above but the program is held for
2 hours a week for 12 weeks or longer. It allows a largest group of people
to attend by allowing for multiple training days and groups. The results
of each training module are field tested in the plant during the program.
The results of the implementation success (or setbacks) are feed back
to the class for discussion. The class uses the skills learned in each
new module and builds upon the success.
Class size is restricted to 10 people. The groups would meet ON SITE.
Some homework is assigned but this mainly deals with preparation of case
studies. The time is restricted recognizing the attendees are also doing
their regular work. Can take on more than one class during the week.
Duration: 12-14 weeks (depending upon the experience of the trainees).
The cost of each program is available upon request. In
all cases expenses are extra.
Let M.O.P. Systems' Practical Management Program provide your
lead people, supervisors and managers with hands on training and practical
solutions to their daily problems and obstacles.

Practical Management Training Feedback
|
"…It was nice to be given training by a teacher who had a passion
for his subject and was not just giving lip service to something
he barely knew himself."
…Bolthouse Farms supervisor
|
|
"The class was insightful. It gave me a boost of confidence
I needed for this position, talking to different levels of employees.
Thank you so much for your time and patience with us."
…Bolthouse Farms supervisor
|
|
"I strongly recommend this class to all management. Not just
the new managers and supervisors, but also the more senior, for
we can never learn too much and some may have lost the intricate
details of the methods in which we should manage the real people
within the facility."
"Stanley, I felt that you listened extraordinarily well to every
individual. You accepted everyone's view points and offered, not
just one but various perspectives to each situation. You, to me,
are an exceptional trainer."
…Bolthouse Farms supervisor
|
|
"…every week I was enlightened with knowledge to help deal with
issues I face daily. The lesson on rating employees was most useful…
now I feel confident to reward and build up our good employees who
deserve it."
…Bolthouse Farms supervisor
|
|
"…Of particular note is the Practical Management training course
he conducted with 1st and 2nd line supervisors in our Juice/Concentrate
Plant. These were effective, well-received classes conducted by
Mr. Dyrkacz which enabled our young and inexperienced supervisors
to feel more comfortable and effective regarding their people management
skills."
